Running virtual machines (VMs) can access the Management VLAN when an associated VM port is assigned an IP address on the Management VLAN. This access is intended for management/maintenance purposes, and shares the bandwidth of the management port with switch management.
The normal connectivity between a guest VM and the network is by dedicated ports. Any management operations (CLI commands, SNMP gets/sets, API calls, etc.) that can be applied to a front-panel port can also be applied to a dedicated port. Only one guest VM can be configured per dedicated port.
To configure Integrated Application Hosting (IAH) VMs, including adding dedicated ports, see Configuring Integrated Application Hosting (IAH) Virtual Machines .
