Configuring the Ethertype for VMAN Ports

The ethertype is a component of VLAN and VMAN frames. It is introduced in Secondary Ethertype Support.

This feature is supported only on the platforms listed for this feature in the license tables in the ExtremeXOS and Switch Engine 31.7 Feature License Requirements document.

To configure the ethertype for VMAN (PBN) ports, do the following:

Configure the primary and secondary (if needed) VMAN ethertype values for the switch using the following command:
configure vman ethertype hex_value [primary | secondary]

By default, all VMAN ports use the primary ethertype value.
If you plan to use a secondary ethertype, select the secondary ethertype for the appropriate VMAN ports using the following command:
configure port port_list ethertype {primary | secondary}
