Configure Line Card

Before you begin

Only admin users can perform this procedure.
Perform this procedure before physically inserting the line card in the slot.
Power off the line card before removing the slot configuration.
Only 400G speed is supported on the line card.
Breakout is not supported for 400G ports.

Procedure

Enter the global configuration mode.

device# configure terminal 
device(config)#

Configure the slot number and the line card type.
```
device(config)# linecard slot linecard_type
device(config)# linecard 1 LC16x100G
```
- Valid slot range is 1 through 8.
- Valid line card type values are LC4x400G and LC16x100G.
Optional: Remove the line card slot configuration.
```
device(config)# no linecard
```
