About this task
You can confirm if a GPS signal is available in a location using the the ExtremeCloud IQ Mobile Companion app (AFC Mobile app). Use this feature before you deploy your APs so you can plan your AP locations. If a GPS signal is not available, then you will not be able to use the location for an anchor AP.
Procedure
- Login to the Mobile App.
ExtremeCloud IQ - Login to the Cloud Network.
ExtremeCloud IQ
Controller - Login to the Local Network.
The Geo Location window appears. If the Geo Location does not appear, then your phone does not support the Mobile App.
- Under Geo Location, press GPS Location.
A confirmation window appears.
- Grant the Mobile App access to your location.
- Precise - Use for a detailed location co-ordinates
- Approximate - Use for a general location co-ordinates
- While using the app - You will not have to grant access again.This is the recommended choice.
- Only this time - A one-time access to your location. Select if you do not expect to use this feature often.
- Don't allow - Blocks the app from accessing your location.
Results
If GPS is available, then the GPS Lock Acquired window appears with your Geo-Locations.
