Access Points (APs) should automatically recover from a power outage or planned shutdown once the network is restored. Geo-location is stored in the AP and is available after a power outage.
But it is good practice to verify that your APs recovered from an outage and are functioning correctly. Login into ExtremeCloud IQ or ExtremeCloud IQ Controller, navigate to your APs, and confirm that your access points recovered and are working as expected. The AP's location and frequency coordination should automatically re-validate once your network is functioning.

Note
Schedule your planned outages during off-peak hours so any disruption is minimized. If the APs were moved during an outage or experienced an AFC-related error, they may have trouble establishing their geo-locations. You will have to recalculate or refresh the Fine Time Measurement (FTM) ranging for the APs.
In some cases, you will need to send a technician to establish the GPS coordinates using the Extreme Networks Mobile App if FTM ranging cannot be established.
For more information, see the user guide documentation for ExtremeCloud IQ or ExtremeCloud IQ Controller.
When ExtremeCloud IQ or ExtremeCloud IQ Controller report the spectrum information to an AP, it indicates an expiration time. Expiration time is 24 hours ahead of the last spectrum refresh, as shown on the AFC tab for each AP.
If the spectrum is not refreshed within 24 hours, the AP enters into a grace period. The grace period extends until midnight the next day in the local timezone.
Note the following behavior:
ExtremeCloud IQ Controller - If a new AFC spectrum is not obtained within the grace period, then the AP 6GHz radios revert to Low Power Indoors (LPI) power mode, if LPI is supported. Otherwise, the 6GHz radios stop operating.
ExtremeCloud IQ - If a new AFC spectrum is not obtained within the grace period, then the AP 6GHz radios stop operating. In a future release, this behavior will be revised to correspond to ExtremeCloud IQ.
See Supported APs for AFC in Canada and the United States for a list of APs that support LPI.
