ntp interval

Specifies the time interval between successive NTP updates.

Syntax

default ntp interval
ntp interval <1-2185> OR <4-17>

Command Parameters

interval <1-2185> OR <4-17>

Specifies the time interval between successive NTP updates.

VSP 8600 Series specifies the time interval between successive NTP updates in minutes. VOSS switches specify the time interval between success NTP updates as a power of 2, in seconds.

Default

For VSP 8600 Series, the default for NTPv3 is 15 minutes. The default value for NTPv4 is 6 minutes.

For VOSS, the default for NTPv4 is 2 to the power of 8 seconds.

NTPv3 is supported on VSP 8600 Series only. Interval range 1 to 2185 is supported on VSP 8600 Series only.

NTPv3 is deprecated for VOSS. Interval range 4 to 17 is supported on VOSS only.
