The switch supports hardware accessories that expand the capabilities of the switch. Collectively, they are referred to as expansion modules. The VSP 4900 Series supports versatile interface modules (VIMs) and solid-state drives (SSDs).
Note
Read the information in this chapter thoroughly before trying install or remove an expansion module.
Warning
The switch must be powered off before you install any expansion module options. The expansion module options are not hot swappable.
