QoS on the SLX 9250, SLX 9150, Extreme 8520, and Extreme 8720

The following information is only applicable to Extreme 8720, Extreme 8520, SLX 9250, and SLX 9150.

• QoS on the devices consists of the following:

  • 32MB buffer
  • 128K 256-byte cells
  • 10 UC and 10 MC queues, however only 8 of each are supported

• Below is the list of supported QoS map configurations.

  • traffic-class under interface
  • cos-traffic-class
  • dscp-traffic-class
  • traffic-class-cos
  • traffic-class-dscp
  • trust dscp for L2 switch Port
  • remark dscp for L2 Switch Port
• Egress QoS map is supported only on the Physical Interface.
• For IP-fabric, user configured maps are supported on user interface only. That is, incoming user interface on I-VTEP and outgoing user interface on E-VTEP.
• To use DSCP remark on E-VTEP, qos-dscp-mode should be configured as Uniform.
• MCT ICL internal VxLAN tunnels support only qos-dscp-mode as Pipe at E-VTEP. So, DSCP remark on E-VTEP towards outgoing user interface cannot not applied.

The devices support the following:

• Port shaping
• Priority shaping
• Strict priority (SP)
• Weighted round robin (WRR)
• Scheduling supports:
  • At L1, SP and WRR, or mixed mode for both unicast and multicast traffic.
  • At L0, per port shaping.
  • At L2, per priority shaping

Cell packing is not supported
