The AP4020 series access points with quad-radios are high-performance Wi-Fi 7, 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz band access points for use in high-density indoor environments.
The AP4020 series includes three variants: AP4020, AP4020X, and AP4020FX. Each variant has these common features and characteristics:

Note
Radio 4 on the AP4020 series is disabled. It is reserved to operate in a future release as a dedicated sensor, thereby allowing dedication of three radios to data usage.Uses software-defined radios (SDRs), enabling network managers to configure network RF technology based on the user environment, and to configure the APs in different modes as required.
Mode 1: 2.4/5/6 GHz
Mode 2: 2.4/5H/5L GHz
Unique characteristics and features of the variants are as follows:
AP4020 — Has only internal antennas that require no configuration
AP4020X — Has an integral (fixed) antenna that can be neither changed nor configured.
AP4020X and AP4020FX — Have internal and external antennas. External antennas must be configured, and an internal antenna can be configured to support BLE/IOT if no external antenna is installed to support it. See AP4020X/FX Professional Install Settings for configuration instructions.

Note
Radio 4 on the AP4020 series is disabled. It is reserved to operate in a future release as a dedicated sensor, thereby allowing dedication of three radios to data usage.
AP4020/X/FX 802.3af low power is used strictly for staging. Wi-Fi service is not supported.

The AP4020 series WI-FI 7 access points provide support for tri-radio and dual 5 GHz with 2.4 GHz radio deployments.
The AP4020 series transmits with multiple combinations of three data radios across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. The AP4020 series monitors the software defined radios (SDR), enabling configuration of the APs in different modes as required.
Supported Software Defined Radio Modes describes the supported operating modes and their related characteristics and capabilities.
