Use this task to enable Client Monitor so devices can detect client issues, and
report client connection activities and problems to ExtremeCloud IQ.
- Go to and select the host name of the AP in the Devices
list.
- From the Device Details
left pane, select .
- Under Additional
Settings, select Troubleshooting.
- Toggle Enable Client
Monitor to On.
- Select
to configure a new Client Monitor Policy, see Client Monitor Profile Settings, and then
click Save.

Note
Select the client monitor
profile name to edit the profile.
- Select
to select an existing client monitor policy. - Select X to use the
SSID's client monitor policy.
- For APs that support Dynamic Packet Capture, toggle Enable Packet Capture to On.

Note
If the AP model supports Dynamic Packet Capture, a small packet capture of the event is appended to the client monitor record. Dynamic Packet Capture is supported on the following models:
- AP3000, AP3000X, or AP5010 running 10.6.7 or higher
- AP5020 running 10.7.1 or higher
- AP4020 running 10.8.1 or higher
- Select Save
Troubleshooting.
- To update the device
immediately, select Update.
- Select the type of update, and
then select Save as
Defaults to save this option as the default action.
- To update the device
immediately, select Perform Update.
