interface-config-vlan-instance

Defines this VLAN interface‘s description. Use this command to provide additional information about the VLAN.

Supported in the following platforms:

  • Access Points — AP505i, AP510i, AP510e, AP560i, AP6522, AP6562, AP7161, AP7502, AP7522, AP7532, AP7562, AP7602, AP7612, AP7622, AP763, AP7662, AP8163, AP8543, AP8533.
  • Service Platforms — NX5500, NX7500, NX9500, NX9600, VX9000

Syntax

description <WORD>

Parameters

description <WORD>
description <WORD> Configures a description for this VLAN interface (should not exceed 64 characters in length)
  • <WORD> – Specify a description unique to the VLAN‘s specific configuration, to help differentiate it from other VLANs with similar configurations.

Example

nx9500-6C8809(config-profile-default-rfs4000-if-vlan8)#description “This VLAN interface is configured for the Sales Team”

nx9500-6C8809(config-profile-default-rfs4000-if-vlan8)#show context
 interface vlan8
  description "This VLAN interface is configured for the Sales Team"
