Guide
This manual describes the CLI commands and
configurations required to bring up and deploy Extreme Networks'
access points, wireless controllers and service platforms within a
WiNG 7.1.1 managed network.
The
WiNG 7.1.1 software supports the following
access points and service platforms:
- Access Points
— AP505i, AP510i, AP510e, AP560i
- Service
Platforms — NX5500, NX7500, NX9500, NX9600, VX9000

Note
The AP5XX model
access points are part of the 802.11ax portfolio, introduced along
with the
ExtremeWireless WiNG 7.1.X
software. They form a part of the ExtremeWireless OmniEdge product
line.
WiNG 7.1.1 introduces the following two ExtremeMobility
access points:
- AP560i - This
is a cloud-ready, stadium optimized, Wi-Fi 6, 802.11ax outdoor access point with an
omnidirectional, internal antenna. It is ideally suited for
high-density user environments, such as stadiums, large public
venues, convention centers and school auditoriums. The AP560i
offers flexible deployment options and can be mounted under a
seat, to a pole, and a wall, thereby ensuring exceptional
mobile user experience.
- AP510e - This
is a next generation, enterprise-class 802.11ax access point.
The AP features a dual-band radio, a band locked radio, and
comes with eight (8) Wi-Fi external
antennas and one Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
antenna.
The other ExtremeMobility AP5XX model access points supported by the
WiNG 7.1.X software are:
- AP505i - This
is a next generation, enterprise-class 802.11ax access point.
The “i” in AP505i indicates that it comes with internal
antennas. The AP505i can be used in stadiums, public venues
such as hospitals and hotels, retail industry, and educational
institutions. The 802.11ax technology supports more users and
internet of things (IoT) devices.
- AP510i - This
is a next generation, enterprise-class 802.11ax access point.
The “i” in AP510i indicates that it comes with internal
antennas. The AP features a dual-band radio, a band locked
radio, and comes with eight (8) Wi-Fi internal antennas and
one Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) antenna.

Note
The
AP560i and AP510e access points require a minimum base firmware of
WiNG 7.1.1 and can adopt to a WiNG 7.1.1 enabled Controller/Virtual
Controller, or ExtremeCloud Appliance.

Note
The AP505i and
AP510i access points require a minimum base firmware of WiNG 7.1.0.
These access points can adopt to a WiNG 7.1.0 and above enabled
Controller/Virtual Controller, or ExtremeCloud Appliance.
