antenna-id

Configures the antenna ID on an AP510e model access point. You need to configure the antenna-id to enable the access point radios.

The ExtremeMobility AP510e is a dual-radio access point, with eight, external WiFi antennas. AP510e radios can provide 2.4/5 GHz WLAN service and also perform channel scanning. Following is the supported software modes for the AP510e access point radios:
Software Mode 1
  • Radio 1: Set to 2.4 GHz WLAN, Channels 1 - 11 in the 20 MHz /40 MHz bandwidths
  • Radio 2: Set to 5 GHz WLAN, Channels 36 - 165 in the 20 MHz /40 MHz /80 MHz /160 MHz
Software Mode 2
  • Radio 1: Set to 2.4/5 GHz Sensor
  • Radio 2: Set to 5 GHz WLAN, Channels 36 - 165 in the 20 MHz /40 MHz /80 MHz /160 MHz
Software Mode 3
  • Radio 1: Set to 5 GHz, Channels 36 - 64 in the 20 MHz /40 MHz /80 MHz /160 MHz bandwidths
  • Radio 2: Set to 5 GHz, Channels 100 - 165 in the 20 MHz /40 MHz /80 MHz /160 MHz bandwidths
The AP510e external antenna ports are grouped as follows:
  • Group 1 - consists of antenna ports 1, 2, 3, and 4; supporting 2.4/5 GHz band
  • Group 2 - consists of antenna ports 5, 6, 7, and 8; supporting 5 GHz band
To enable the AP510e radios, you must map a WLAN to the AP radio and also configure the antenna-id. The following table lists the external antenna configurations required to support the different software modes on the AP510e model access point.
  Antenna Ports
Software Mode 2.4/5G Antennas: 1, 2, 3, 4 5G Antennas: 5, 6, 7, 8
Mode 1
  • Radio 1 - 2.4 GHz WLAN
  • Radio 2 - 5 GHz WLAN
Note: This mode requires only FOUR, dual-band antennas connected to ANT sockets 1 to 4.
Note: If using this mode, configure antenna-id only for the group 1 antennas.
 Dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz None
Mode 2
  • Radio 1 - 2.4/5 GHz Sensor
  • Radio 2 - 5 GHz WLAN
Note: This mode requires FOUR, dual-band antennas connected to ANT sockets 1 to 4, and FOUR, 5G-band antennas connected to ANT sockets 5 to 8.
Note: If using this mode, configure antenna-id for both group 1 and group 2 antennas.
 Dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz 5 GHz
Mode 3
  • Radio 1 - 5 GHz WLAN
  • Radio 2 - 5 GHz WLAN
Note: Requires FOUR, 5G-band antennas connected to ANT sockets 1 to 4, and FOUR, 5G-band antennas connected to ANT sockets 5 to 8.
Note: If using this mode, configure antenna-id for both group 1 and group 2 antennas.

Syntax

antenna-id [group-1|group-2] <ANTENNA-TYPE>

Parameters

antenna-id [group-1|group-2] <ANTENNA-TYPE>
antenna-id Configures the antenna ID.
group-1 Configures antenna-id for the group-1 antenna ports (that is, ports 1, 2, 3, and 4)
Note: You will need to configure group-1 antenna-id for all three software modes.
group-2 Configures antenna-id for the group-2 antenna ports (that is, ports 5, 6, 7, and 8)
Note: You will need to configure group-2 antenna-id only for software modes 2 and 3.
antenna-type Configures the antenna type used
