ExtremeXOS OSPFv2 auto-peering is a network of cooperating interconnected devices that automatically create an OSPFv2 network for any topology, providing fully redundant, multipath routing. Node participation grows dynamically and is not bound to any well-known topology such as Clos or Leaf/Spine. OSPF is a link-state routing protocol that provides fast convergence and scalability. It is an interior gateway protocol (IGP) commonly used in large enterprise networks.
Auto-peering nodes build a secure network by running the OSPFv2 protocol over unnumbered point-to-point links to exchange database information that describes the topology of the autonomous system.
Any device connecting to an auto-peering device is an attachment point to the network. This network provides the underlay for services such as VXLAN, policy, VRF, and Fabric Attach.
