Using the tracking mechanism, if
VLAN1 fails, the VRRP master realizes that there is no path to the upstream router through
the master switch and implements a VRRP failover to the backup.
The route specified in this command must exist in
the IP routing table. When the route is no longer available, the switch implements a VRRP
failover to the backup.
configure vrrp vlan vrrp1 vrid 2 add
track-ping 10.10.10.121 frequency 2 miss 2
The specified IP address is
tracked. If the fail rate is exceeded, the switch implements a VRRP failover to the
backup. A VRRP node with a priority of 255 may not recover from a ping-tracking failure if
there is a Layer 2 switch between it and another VRRP node. In cases where a Layer 2
switch is used to connect VRRP nodes, we recommend that those nodes have priorities of
less than 255.
