Configuring Standalone ELRP

The ELRP client (standalone ELRP) must be enabled globally in order for it to work on any VLAN.

Globally enable the ELRP client for static VLANs:

enable elrp-client {software | hardware-assist}

The ELRP client can be disabled globally so that none of the ELRP VLAN configurations take effect.
Globally disable the ELRP client for static VLANs:

disable elrp-client
Globally enable or disable ELRP for dynamic VLANs:
configure elrp-client dynamic-vlans {mvrp | netlogin | vm-tracking | all} [on | off]
Globally enable or disable inter-VLAN loop detection:
configure elrp-client inter-vlan-loop-detection [on | off]
Configure or unconfigure a front panel port as the designated loopback port for hardware-assisted ELRP:
configure elrp-client hardware-assist loopback-port [port | none]
Note
Do not configurea trunk port as the loopback port. In a stack, make sure the loopback port is not on the master slot.
