Adding Protected VLANs

You must add one or more protected VLAN (Virtual LAN)s to each EAPS (Extreme Automatic Protection Switching) domain. The protected VLANs are the data-carrying VLANs.

Note

Note

When you configure a protected VLAN, the ring ports of the protected VLAN must be tagged (except in the case of the default VLAN).

For instructions on creating a VLAN, see VLANs.

To configure a VLAN as an EAPS protected VLAN, use the following command:
configure eaps name add protected {vlan} vlan_name
