Managing DHCP/BOOTP Relay

After IP unicast routing has been configured, you can configure the switch to forward DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) or BOOTP requests coming from clients on subnets being serviced by the switch and going to hosts on different subnets. This feature can be used in various applications, including DHCP services between Windows NT servers and clients running Windows 95.

Note

Note

If DHCP/BOOTP Relay is enabled on a per VLAN (Virtual LAN) basis, make sure it is enabled on both the client-side and server-side VLANs.

You can enable the use of LSP next hops, or you can enable DHCP/BOOTP relay. The software does not support both features at the same time.

Note

Note

BootPrelay is not supported in VRF.
