Load-sharing, or link aggregation, algorithms select an egress link for each packet forwarded to egress the LAG (Link Aggregation Group).
The ExtremeXOS software provides multiple addressed-based algorithms. For some types of traffic, the algorithm is fixed and cannot be changed. For other types of traffic, you can configure an algorithm. Algorithm selection is not intended for use in predictive traffic engineering.
Note
Always reference the master logical port of the load-sharing group when configuring or viewing VLAN (Virtual LAN)s. VLANs configured to use other ports in the LAG will have those ports deleted from the VLAN when link aggregation is enabled.
