Flow Based Mirroring

Legacy Flow Based Mirroring Configuration

Flow based mirroring enables mirroring of packet flows based on Access Control Lists applied on a port. For Layer 2 ACL Mirroring, see the topic Layer 2 ACL-based mirroring in the Extreme SLX-OS Security Configuration Guide for this release. Similarly, for Layer 3 ACL Mirroring, see Layer 3 ACL-based mirroring in the Extreme SLX-OS Security Configuration Guide for this release.

New Flow Based Mirroring Configuration

The new way to configure Flow Based Mirroring is to use the monitor session command with the keyword flow-based when defining the command. Flow based mirroring can be configured for ingress ports of the type Physical Interface, Port Channel, VE, and VLAN. The following egress port types can be configured, Physical Interface, Port Channel, RSPAN, and ERSPAN. The same monitor session command is used to configure any combination of Flow Based Mirroring.

Flow Based Mirroring is configured using Access Control Lists (ACLs) and these ACLs are then applied to the specific interface.
