The firmware validation process of ZTP+ verifies the device is running the appropriate version of software.
The CloudConnector and Extreme Management Center (XMC) exchange device software versions. If XMC detects a firmware update is required, it responds with the details to download the new version. The update or download of software is initiated by the device.
To identify the correct operating firmware in XMC, use Inventory Manager to assign the base operating system version as the Reference Image. The XMC ZTP+ server searches the reference image directory for all applications that need to be upgraded. These versions are used for the Application and OS verification steps in ZTP+. If there are errors during this upgrade process, the device notifies XMC by posting an event to the server log., and retries the download operation.
