Fabric Attach (FA) standalone proxy introduces FA proxy functionality in environments without an FA server. FA provisions VLANs on the FA standalone proxy switch for itself, and for connected FA clients, and then adds the VLAN membership to the uplink port facing the core (non-FA) switch or router for connection to existing services. The provisioned VLANs at the access layer switch must match the VLANs on the opposite end of the link at the core/aggregation layer switch for communications to operate. You can use this design with an existing legacy core network infrastructure (any vendor).
This configuration example shows how to configure FA standalone CB Extended Edge Switching MLAG peers over a ring to receive and approve VLAN/NSI mappings from an FA client connected to BPEs.
