This chapter describes how to use the operating system to manage the switch. It also
provides details on how to perform the following various basic switch functions:
Access the command line interface (CLI) by
connecting a terminal (or workstation with terminal-emulation software) to the
console port.
Access the switch remotely using TCP/IP through one of the switch
ports, or through the dedicated 10/100 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) Ethernet
management port. Remote access includes:
Telnet using the CLI interface
Secure Shell (SSH2) using the CLI interface
SNMP access using Ridgeline™ or another SNMP
manager
