when there are no other default routes to a destination.
Procedure

Access global configuration
mode.
device# configure terminal

Enter the destination route and
network mask (::/0) followed by a valid next-hop IP address.
device(config)# ipv6 route ::/0 2001:DB8:0:ee44::1
