The following procedure configures a user account on a Windows AD server.
Create a user in Windows.
Open
Programs > Administrative Tools > Active directory Users and Computers.
Add a user by completing the
Active directory Users and Computers dialog box.
Save the account information.
From a command prompt, log in using the new user name and enter a password when prompted.
Create a group in Windows.
Go to
Programs > Administrative Tools > Active directory Users and Computers.
Add a new group.
Save the group information.
Assign the group to the user.
Click on the user name.
From the
Properties dialog box, click the
Member Of tab and update the field with the group name. This group should either match the device role or it must be mapped with the device role on the device. In this instance, Domain Users is the primary group and therefore should not be mapped with the device role.
