AP Network Traffic Shaping
Traffic shaping regulates network data transfers to ensure a
specific performance level. Traffic shaping delays the flow of packets defined as less
important than prioritized traffic streams. Traffic shaping enables traffic control out an
interface to match its flow to the speed of a remote target‘s interface and ensure traffic
conforms applied policies. Traffic can be shaped to meet downstream requirements and eliminate
network congestion when data rates are in conflict.
Apply traffic shaping
to specific applications to apply application categories. When application and ACL rules are
conflicting, an application takes precedence over an application category, then ACLs.
