Enable BFD Globally
BFD for IPv6 interfaces is a demonstration feature on some products. For more information about feature support, see Fabric Engine Feature Support Matrix.
Before you begin
To perform this procedure on a non-default VRF, you must first change the VRF instance. For information about how to use EDM for a non-default VRF, see Select and Launch a VRF Context View. All parameters might not be available in non-default VRFs.
About this task
BFD provides a failure-detection mechanism between two systems. Use the following procedure to enable BFD globally.
Note
Enabling BFD globally does not establish a BFD session. To establish a BFD session, you must enable BFD at the interface level and at the application level.Procedure
- In the navigation pane, expand .
- Select BFD.
- Select the Globals tab.
- In AdminStatus, select enabled.
- Optional: Select TrapEnabled to send BFD traps.
- Select Apply.
