Used when packets are dropped during STP output processing due to the MaxAge value being too large. This is normal for networks of large diameter or when a BPDU flood appears on a network.
Check network size to make sure the maximum diameter is not exceeded and check to make sure no L2 devices are flooding/looping BPDUs.
