NTP.Peer.DtectServUnrch

Description

The NTP server(server, peer, or local reference clock) becomes unreachable from the local system after 8 continuous failures to receive NTP response packets from the server. The NTP client sends an NTP request packet per poll interval (Default:64 seconds) to the NTP server(server, peer, or local reference clock) and waits for an NTP response packet. If there is no response for 8 consecutive trials, the NTP server is recognized as unreachable. When a target NTP server becomes unreachable, it is removed from the system peer or candidate list. In case of a local reference clock, reachability of the local reference clock is dependent on the external system peer election. When the system elects a system peer from the external clock sources, the local reference clock becomes unreachable later because the local system stopsped polling the local reference clock and adjusts to the external clock source.

Remedy

Check network reachability using ping or traceroute from the local system to the target NTP server.
