vlan.dad.GetGrpMskFail

Description

In order for VLAN Manager to receive messages that indicate a duplicate IP (including IPv6) address has been discovered for a VLAN, registration for Generic Netlink group messages related to the DAD must be successful. In order to achieve this registration, the DAD family's groups must first be converted into a group mask using the Generic Netlink's control channel. This event indicates that the appropriate group mask could not be determined and registration for Generic Netlink group messages will not be performed. As a result of this failure, VLAN Manager will not be made aware of duplicate IP addresses. This failure indicates an internal software error.

Remedy

When this happens DAD will not be able to function. This is an unexpected internal condition needing technical assistance. Contact technical support with the following information: Output of 'show tech', 'show ip dad', 'show ipv6 dad'
