When the NTP service stops unexpectedly, the NTP process can take two actions, namely "Terminate" or "Restart". If action is "Restart" the service will be restarted. If this has happened five times in one hour the NTP service will not be restarted, indicated by action "Terminated"
If the action taken is "Terminated", try to restart the NTP process. In addition when this happens see if a core file was generated for the NTPD process, "ls /usr/local/tmp". If so please contact technical support with the following information: "show tech" and "upload debug".
