Initial Switch Configuration

Before configuring ERPS through the web interface, configure your switches as follows. In this example, there are three switches getting configured.
  1. Because all switches have the same IP initially, it is best to connect to the switch locally and then configure its IP.
  2. While you are in the CLI:
    1. Disable Spanning Tree by entering no spanning-tree.
Spanning Tree is enabled by default. Disabling it ensures STP does not conflict with ERPS.

You must be in Configuration Mode to run this command (see "Execution Modes" in the ISW Series Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch Command Reference Guide).
    2. Disable LLDP by entering the commands no lldp receive and no lldp transmit.
    3. Disable Loop Protection by entering no loop-protect.
  3. Connect switch 1 to switch 2, and switch 1 to switch 3.
