Licensing Considerations
With
ExtremeWireless v10.01 and
later each controller is licensed in a specific domain. The domain licenses include:
The user interface reflects the domain of the controller. The following are use cases for
each domain:
- A wireless controller with an FCC license can manage Access Points
deployed in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Colombia.
- A wireless controller with a ROW license can manage Access Points
deployed in any country except the United States, Puerto
Rico, Egypt, or Colombia.
- A wireless controller with a EGY license will continue to require ROW hardware,
but the license will restrict country selection to Egypt only.
- A wireless controller with a EGY license can manage Access
Points deployed in Egypt.
Note
If upgrading from v10.21 with an EGY
license, call customer support for assistance.
- A wireless controller with a MNT license can manage
only domain-locked Access Points, which are the AP39xx-FCC and the AP39xx-ROW only. The
AP39xx-FCC must be deployed in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Colombia. The AP39xx-ROW must
be deployed in any country except the United States, Puerto
Rico, or Colombia.
Note
The AP37xx and AP38xx will NOT be able to connect
to a controller licensed in the MNT domain.
