MSTP Port Roles

MSTP (Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol) uses the same port roles as RSTP (Root, Designated, Alternate, and Backup).

In addition to these port roles, MSTP introduces a new port role: Master. A Master port is the port that connects an MSTI (Multiple Spanning Tree Instances) to the CIST root.
