Deployment and Application Considerations

The following configuration guidelines should be observed when deploying fault tolerant access points:

When this feature is deployed with EAPS (Extreme Automatic Protection Switching) access rings, it is strongly recommended that the EAPS health check time is configured to a value that is less than or equal to the ESRP (Extreme Standby Router Protocol) hello time. Current defaults are one second and two seconds for EAPS health check and ESRP hello, respectively.
All nodes in the control VLAN (Virtual LAN) other than the two VPLS enabled nodes are configured as ESRP-Aware.
