Configuring the DIS Priority for Broadcast Interfaces

The designated intermediate system (DIS) is introduced in Establishing Adjacencies. When you configure the DIS priority, higher priority means higher election precedence (60 gets elected before 50).

To configure the DIS priority, use the following command:
configure isis [vlan all | {vlan} vlan_name] priority priority {level[1 | 2]}
Note

Note

DIS priority 0 is the lowest priority value. Unlike an OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) DR election, a DIS priority of 0 does not make a router ineligible for DIS election.
