Specifies the time (in seconds) that the ports in this STPD (Spanning Tree Domain) spend in the listening and learning states when the switch is the root bridge.
stpd_name | Specifies an STPD name on the switch. |
seconds | Specifies the forward delay time in seconds. The default is 15 seconds, and the range is 4 to 30 seconds. |
The default forward delay time is 15 seconds.
If your STPD has the same name as another component, for example a VLAN (Virtual LAN), we recommend that you specify the identifying keyword as well as the name. If your STPD has a name unique only to that STPD, the keyword stpd is optional.
You should not configure any STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) parameters unless you have considerable knowledge and experience with STP. The default STP parameters are adequate for most networks.
The range for the seconds parameter is 4 through 30 seconds.
The following command sets the forward delay from STPD1 to 20 seconds:
configure stpd stpd1 forwarddelay 20
