halt

Stops (halts) a device (Access Point, wireless controller, or service platform). Once halted, the system must be restarted manually.

This command stops the device immediately. No indications or notifications are provided while the device shuts down.

Supported in the following platforms:

  • Access Points — AP505i, AP510i/e, AP560i/h
  • Service Platforms — NX5500, NX7500, NX9500, NX9600, VX9000

Syntax

halt force {on <DEVICE-NAME>}

Parameters

halt force {on <DEVICE-NAME>}
halt

Halts a device

force Optional. Forces a device to halt ignoring in-progress operations, such as firmware upgrades, downloads, unsaved configuration changes, etc.
  The following keywords are recursive and applicable to the ‘force‘ parameter:
  • on <DEVICE-NAME> – Optional. Specifies the name of the device to be halted
    • <DEVICE-NAME> – Enter the name of the AP, wireless controller, or service platform.
Note: If the device name is not specified, the logged device is halted.
