Assign MIB View Access for an Object
About this task
Create a new entry in the MIB View table.
You cannot modify SNMP settings with the default Layer 2 MIB view. However, you can modify SNMP settings with a new MIB view created with Layer 2 permissions.
Procedure
- In the navigation pane, expand .
- Select VACM Table.
- Select the MIB View tab.
- Select Insert.
- In ViewName, type a view name.
- In Subtree, type a subtree.
- In Mask, type a mask.
- From the Type options, select whether access to the MIB object is granted.
- Select Insert.

Subtree |
Specifies a valid object identifier that defines the set of MIB objects accessible by this SNMP entity, for example, 1.3.6.1.1.5. |
Mask (optional) |
Specifies a bit mask with vacmViewTreeFamilySubtree to determine whether an OID falls under a view subtree. |
Type |
Determines whether access to a MIB object is granted (included) or denied (excluded). The default is included. |
