Configure a Secondary IP Interface for a VLAN

Assign a secondary IP address to a VLAN to increase the number of connected hosts the VLAN can support.

Before you begin

You must configure a primary IP address before you can add a Secondary IP Interface.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > VLAN.
  2. Select VLANs.
  3. On the Basic tab, select the VLAN to configure.
  4. Select IP.
  5. On the Secondary IP Addresses tab, select Insert.
  6. Type the IP address.
  7. Type the subnet mask.
  8. Select Insert.

Name Description

Interface

Identifies the IP interface.

Ip Address

Specifies the secondary IP address.

Net Mask

Specifies the subnet mask for the address.

Vlan ID

Identifies the VLAN ID.

Vrf ID

Identifies the associated VRF ID, if applicable.
