configure stpd stpd_name trap new-root [on | off]

Description

Enables and disables the new-root trap.

Syntax Description

stpd_name Specifies an STPD (Spanning Tree Domain) name on the switch.
on Enables the new-root trap.
off Disables the new-root trap.

Default

By default, the trap is enabled (on).

Usage Guidelines

The new-root trap is sent when the new root bridge is elected.

Example

The following example disables the new-root trap for the STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) domain r1.

configure stpd r1 trap new-root off
