enable identity-management

Description

Enables the identity management feature, which tracks users and devices that connect to the switch.

Syntax Description

This command has no arguments or variables.

Default

Disabled.

Usage Guidelines

Only admin-level users can execute this command.

After identity management is enabled, the software creates two dynamic ACL (Access Control List) rules named idm_black_list and idm_white_list. These rules are removed if identity management is disabled.

Note

Note

FDB (forwarding database) entries are flushed on identity management enabled ports when this command is executed.

This command was first available in ExtremeXOS 12.4.

Platform Availability

This command is available on the Summit X450-G2, X460-G2, X670-G2, X770, and ExtremeSwitching X440-G2, X590, X620, X690, X870 series switches.
