Perform this procedure on a Unix or Linux machine to verify that the software files downloaded properly. The MD5 checksum for each release is available from Extreme Networks Support portal.
Calculate and verify the MD5 checksum after you download software files.
$ /usr/bin/md5sum <downloaded software-filename>
Typically, downloaded software files are in the form of compressed Unix file archives (.tgz files).
$ more <md5–checksum output file>
Calculate the MD5 checksum of the downloaded file:
$ /usr/bin/md5sum VOSS4900.8.10.0.0.tgz a71ebe5a0c1c2d2a5056ddaca0124aef VOSS4900.8.10.0.0.tgz
View the MD5 checksum of the software suite:
