Configuration Overview

  1. If you want to use MPLS in a different VR (the default is VR-Default), move MPLS to the appropriate VR as described in Moving MPLS From VR to VR.
  2. Create and configure the VLANs that will use MPLS.
  3. Configure an MPLS LSR ID for each switch that serves as an LSR in the network. (See Configuring the MPLS LSR ID.)
  4. Add MPLS support to the appropriate VLANs. (See Adding MPLS Support to VLANs.)
  5. Enable MPLS on each switch that serves as an LSR. (See Enabling and Disabling MPLS on an LSR.)
  6. Enable MPLS on the appropriate VLANs. (See Enabling and Disabling MPLS on a VLAN.)
  7. Enable LDP on each switch that serves as an LSR. (See Enabling LDP on the Switch.)
  8. Enable LDP on the appropriate VLANs. (See Enabling and Disabling LDP on a VLAN.)
  9. Configure an IGP, such as OSPF or IS-IS, for the appropriate switches and VLANs.
