ExtremeXOS allows multiple applications (Layer 7 policy, user-based dynamic ACLs) to share a pool of VCAP slices. This area is called the “shared pool.” The TCI overwrite-enabled case is configurable to use its own pool of VCAP slices and the “shared pool” is allocated for the other applications. VCAP slices not allocated for policy usage are available for general system use.
TCI overwrite-enabled profiles use their own resource pool of slices (0–4) for VLAN assignment (translation). Allocating less TCI overwrite-enabled VCAP space means fewer rules available for users to have their VLAN tags overwritten.
All platforms, except the ExtremeSwitching X435 series switches.
