VXLAN to Non-VXLAN Routing in a Non-AutoBGP Network

ExtremeXOS 22.4 and later allow the IP Forwarding flag to be set for VLAN interfaces with a VXLAN association for IPv4 traffic. This qualifies any ExtremeSwitching switch that supports VXLAN but does not support routing in-and-out of tunnels (RIOT) (see Routing in and out of Tunnels (RIOT)) or IP fabric.

For example, an ExtremeSwitching switch may use VXLAN over an OSPF-based underlay. It is possible a remote destination network is learned by OSPF on one of its underlay VLAN interfaces that has no VXLAN association. While the CLI allows this setup, this is not a validated design and is therefore not recommended.
