nsight-policy (global-config-mode)

Creates an NSight policy and enters its configuration mode. The NSight policy configures parameters that enable controllers or virtual controllers (VCs) and RF Domain managers to post periodic-stats, event logs, and configuration information (such as RF Domains, location hierarchy, WLANs, device inventory) to a designated server host. The server could be an NSight server deployed on an external VM appliance or the ExtremeCloud IQ server.
Any WiNG controller that is onboarded to XIQ can be managed from XIQ. You can use the SSH proxy option on XIQ to open SSH connection with WiNG controller for accessing the CLI and web proxy option to launch the GUI. This feature is also supported on WiNG access points configured in virtual controller mode.
Note

Note

You can use your existing credentials to access WiNG CLI or GUI.
Note

Note

ExtremeCloud IQ server support has been introduced in the WiNG 7.3.0.2 and WiNG 7.3.1 firmware. Going forward, WiNG devices running on the aforementioned firmware (or successive versions) can securely connect to the ExtremeCloud IQ server.
After configuring the NSight policy apply the policy in the following contexts:
  • RF Domain - The RF Domain manager posts periodic-stats (polled from APs within the RF Domain) and changes in operational parameters of APs within the RF Domain to the server host configured in the NSight policy.
  • WiNG controller or VC (self or profile) - The controller or VC posts event logs and configuration information, such as RF Domains, location hierarchy, WLANs, device inventory to the server host configured in the NSight policy.
