configure dns-client default-domain

configure dns-client default-domain domain_name

Configures the domain that the DNS client uses if a fully qualified domain name is not entered.

Syntax Description

domain_name Specifies a default domain name.

Usage Guidelines

The default domain name will be used to create a fully qualified host name when a domain name is not specified.

For example, if the default domain name is set to “” then when a command like “ping dog” is entered, the ping will actually be executed as “ping”.

The following command configures the default domain name for the server:

configure dns-client default-domain
