Configuring a VNID

Use the following procedure to configure a VNID, which identifies one of the potential 16 million VXLAN segments that can coexist within the same administrative domain.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, expand the Configuration > Edit folders.
  2. Click VTEP.
  3. Click the Vnid tab.
  4. In the Identifier field, assign a unique value to this VNID.
  5. In the Isid field, specify the I-SID associated with this VNID.
  6. In the Action field, select one of the available actions: none or flush.
  7. Click Apply.

Use the data in the following table to use the Vnid tab.

Name

Description

Identifier

Specifies a value that uniquely identifies the VNID of this VXLAN tunnel end point.

Isid

Specifies a value that uniquely identifies the I-SID associated with this VXLAN tunnel end point.

Note:

A VNID must not have the same value as an I-SID.

Action

Choose one of the following actions to take with the MAC FDB:

  • none: Don‘t take any action. This is the default.

  • flushMacFdb: Flush all the learned MAC addresses from the forwarding database of the selected VNID.

OvsdbConfigured

Specifies if the VNID is configured with OVSDB protocol support for VXLAN Gateway.
