Modifying tunnel hop limits

Modify tunnel hop limits to update hop-limit values on previously configured tunnels.

About this task

The tunnel hop limit configures the value of the time-to-live (TTL) for IPv4 packets.

Procedure

  1. Enter Global Configuration mode:

    enable

    configure terminal

  2. Modify the hop limit:

    ipv6 tunnel <1–2000> hop-limit <0–255>

Example

Modify the hop limit for tunnel ID 5:

Switch:1(config)#ipv6 tunnel 5 hop-limit 200

Variable definitions

Use the data in the following table to use the ipv6 tunnel command.

Configures the maximum number of hops in the tunnel. The default value is 255.

<1–2000>

Specifies the tunnel ID.
